The 2022 version of the Chamber & Partners Anti-Corruption Guide includes a special contribution from Bofill Escobar Silva Abogados written by our partners Jorge Bofill and César Ramos.
The text reviews legislation related to this subject in Chile, in a comprehensive and updated manner, considering legal framework, classification that define cases and timeframe of legal actions and geographic location of eventual punishable acts, corporate responsibilities, types of legal defenses and exceptions, applicable penalties, as well as recommendations for prevention and disclosure.
The text ends up identifying the various institutions responsible for the application of this legislation, the mitigation alternatives, jurisdiction and a review of the possible changes proposed in the Criminal Code reformation project.

He was part of the Presidential Commission for the xx of the new Lega Code and was advisor to the National Economic District Attorney’s Office on anti-trust matters.
On the other hand, Cesar Ramos, partner of Bofill Escobar Silva, and leader of the Criminal Law area, has extensive experience in the design of judicial strategies, advisory and representation of clients in high complex cases. He has a vast experience in criminal litigation, especially in the economic, hereditary, tax and commercial areas, and has been a member of technical advisory committees in the criminal area, such as the Criminal Procedure Code Reformation Committee.
