Francisco Aninat focuses his practice on the resolution of complex business disputes. When it comes to litigation and arbitration, Mr. Aninat advises clients before local and foreign courts, as well before domestic and international arbitration panels. His experience spans the energy, financial, construction, concessions, and technology sectors.
Background
- Some representative work includes advising and acting on behalf of a multinational energy corporation in a conflict that extended through multiple jurisdictions around the world; a public works concessionaire in a mass tort case related to the overflow of Santiago’s main river; a construction company in the expansion of a large highway; a technology company in a conflict related to the provision of technological equipment to a large hospital; several foreign investors in negotiations with the Chilean government; several cases related to shareholders disputes; several cases related to inheritance disputes; American and Colombian investors in ICSID investment-arbitration cases; a multinational corporation in a international commercial arbitration related to a solar power plants in the Chilean dessert; several universities in administrative proceedings and investigations due to audits and regulatory changes. Also, Mr. Aninat regularly performs pro bono work representing clients before local courts.
- Before joining Bofill Escobar Silva, Abogados, Mr. Aninat worked for four years at Jones Day’s Global Disputes area of practice in Washington D.C., and as a fellow in economic and financial regulation at the World Bank’s CGAP. Before that, he worked at Barros, Court & Correa, and Aninat & Cía.
